As a native Las Crucen, based primarily in New York City for the last 10 years, Casa Otro is a manifestation of my hope to build a bridge between the home community I love so much and the rest of the world that has shaped me as an artist and thinker. I hope to host, in a variety of ways, artists and thinkers from around the world whose work reflects and expands a shared social value and vision of connectedness. My hope is that it will give opportunities for the local community to have proximity to art and artists they might not normally have access to, while at the same time giving opportunity to these artists to work and be enriched by the cultural wealth of the local community and greater borderplex area.
